ArtsforUs 2012, an increasingly significant event in the Boon Lay community, was organized by the Youth Club @ Boon Lay from Raffles institution, in collaboration with Citizen’s Consultative Committee on 21st October 2012 at the Boon Lay Community Centre.



With an eclectic mix of stakeholders, including the Youth Executive Committee, the Community Club management Committee, Raffles Institution music ensembles and local performing troupes and bands, ArtsforUs serves as a national platform for budding musicians and artistes to showcase their artistic panache in their own respective niche expanses.



At the Youth Club, we pride ourselves on effecting meaningful change from the community, for the community. In accordance with the club’s mission, ArtsforUs seeks to bring the Arts to the heartlands to expose local residents to the plethora of artistic pursuits, as well as to offer them the opportunity to promulgate their artistic talents.

Notably, we organised the very first Boon Lay's Got Talent during this event to identify and cultivate local talent and passion for the various art forms. Boon Lay's Got Talent was a resounding success, as it saw a wide range of participants of all ethnic and age groups coming forth to compete for the title of most talented, while not failing to excite the crowd with their diverse artistic flairs.



This event, emulating its well-acclaimed predecessor, serves as a platform for people to showcase their diverse talents in art and music, and to share their passion with others. The multitude of events, ranging from traditional art forms like batik and lion dance, to more contemporary ones like street dance and tie-dyeing, serve to bring the family unit closer together via such a meaningful event.
